This week, Istinomjer’s member license of the International Fact-Checking Network was extended, and has at the same time continued to be one of the media that fully meets its Codex. Among the other verified “fact-checking” initiatives are the “The Washington Post Fact Checker” from the United States, “Full Fact” from the UK, “Libération Désintox” from France, and the international initiative “Africa Check”.

In the past month, the Istinomjer has gone through a very detailed application process and verification of the work methodology and actions, which must be in accordance with the five principles of the IFCN Codex, (impartiality, transparent emphasis on methodology, guidance of sources of information, financing, and consistent correction of incorrect allegations).

Once our application has undergone the assessment process and was approved by the IFCN Internal Board, the Istinomjer has once again received confirmation that the work it performs is done in a quality, impartial and transparent manner.

Istinomjer has the obligation of submiting once a year report on the compliance of its work with the above mentioned principles.
