Media Management & IT Forum in Minsk

On October 25-27 the Johannes Rau International Centre for Education and Exchange hosted the Media Management & IT Forum in Minsk, Belarus.

This event gathered around 100 media and NGO representatives, data activists, IT professionals and media experts from Eastern Partnership countries and beyond to discuss present-time challenges, the state of Belarusian and EaP media, and to share their expertise in empowering media and local communities. The Forum is organized in cooperation with Deutsche Welle Akademie, Belarusian Association of Journalists, Practical Competences Studio and EAST Center.

MM&IT Forum hosted open panel discussions with local and foreign professionals as well as workshops in key thematic blocks. They include Media Management and Media Sustainability, Content Creation/ Promotion, Investigative Journalism, and New Sources of Monetization, IT Tools and Open Source Investigations.

Darko Brkan, president of CA Why Not delivered a workshop titled Using Fact-checking to promote political accountability and fight disinformation and he also participated on a panel discussion Strengthening the role of investigative journalism in Central and Eastern Europe.
