Fourth Fact-Checking training held in Mostar

Civic Association „Why Not?“ through its platform „Raskrinkavanje“, conducts a series of training in the domain of media fact-checking, as a part of Independent Media Empowerment Program (IMEP). Fourth training was held in Mostar on May 10th, were journalists and students of journalism took part in.

First part of the training was reserved for discussion about differences between journalism and fact-checking as well as discussions about different information sources and means of their utilization.

In the second part, participants were familiarized with basic tools and skills of practical application of fact-checking in the online journalism. Some of the training topics covered: checking up on sources, photo authenticity, media ownership information, moreover using of advanced Google search and digging of deleted content from the internet. Free online fact-checking tools were offered for each of these topics respectively as well.
