Open Call: 8th Fellowship Program for participants from the MENA region

With great pleasure, UG Zašto ne (CA Why Not) from Bosnia and Herzegovina announces the 8th Annual International Fellowship Program for participants from the MENA region for the year 2022.

This fellowship program aims to provide leaders of civil society organizations/groups from the MENA region with an opportunity to learn and exchange experiences on the topics of using technology for democracy promotion.

Through a month-long program of joint experience sharing, meetings, study visits and practical work, you will have an opportunity to acquire new skills, experiences, strategies, tools and ideas for improving accountability programs in your country. 

You will explore and learn more about the following programs: fact-checking and promotion of accountability, civic participation, monitoring of the government and political processes, research and advocacy, civic education for elections and the use of technology to improve democratic processes.

You will visit and meet with other watchdog groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Moreover, you will be working closely with experts from various Balkan area watchdog groups, including researchers, journalists, web developers, and technical staff.

Selected fellows will also have an opportunity to work on a project that concerns their work and the work of their organization/group and get both seed funding and mentoring on their work.

Selected participants will be provided with a residential fellowship at the offices of UG Zašto ne (CA Why not) in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina for one month. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by UG Zašto ne (CA Why not).

The working language of the fellowship is English.

Date of the fellowship: 1 – 30 June 2022
