Register to participate in the POINT 10 Conference

The POINT Conference team invites local activists, representatives of non-governmental organizations, media, students and others interested in fields of political responsibility, new technologies, media and human rights to apply to participate in this year’s conference.

The POINT Conference will take place in Sarajevo, in Dom mladih (the Youth House), on the 2nd and 3rd June 2022.

Since POINT has been going on for exactly a decade now, we have decided to use this year’s conference edition to focus on topics accordingly. Therefore, apart from the take on the actual events and developments, each conference session would offer a retrospective of the past decade and discuss how the situation regarding each topic has changed, thus offering a comparison between the situation ten years ago and now.

Therefore, this year’s topics would potentially include the rise of fact-checking and the fact-checking movement, increase in susceptibility to conspiracy theories, improvement of media integrity, the evolution of the digital rights, impact of the digital environment and disinformation on the business sector, migrations and brain drain, the developments in the Arab world after the Arab Spring, government openness and accountability, as well as the most current issue – Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and media reporting on the topic.

The conference panels will aim to open the discussion and give a chance to all of us to reflect on these topics.

In the registration form, you can choose which sessions you would like to attend during the first and second day of the POINT 10 Conference. We kindly ask that you only choose those sessions you will be attending.

A detailed program of the POINT Conference is available HERE, and you can register HERE.

Important notice:

This call is open just for local activists, so we don’t cover accommodation and travel costs.
