Istinomjer and Raskrinkavanje Join EFCSN as New Members

Admir Hodžić

The fact-checking platforms Istinomjer and Raskrinkavanje have recently joined the European Fact-Checking Network (EFCSN). Operating under the Citizens’ Association “Why not,” the newsrooms of these platforms have pledged to adhere to the European Code of Standards for Independent Fact-Checking Organizations in their operations.

Zašto ne.

The European Network of Fact-Checking Organizations was established to bring together independent fact-checking organizations to define standards of independence, transparency and methodological and journalistic quality in combating disinformation. The project is led by six European fact-checking organizations, with the support of the European Commission.

Following the adoption of the Code of Standards in September 2022, the network held its inaugural governing body elections in November of the same year. This body, comprising 11 members, is tasked with assessing organizations’ compliance with the Code, aiding them in meeting its standards, and serving as the representative body for the European fact-checking community.

Both Istinomjer and Raskrinkanje are certified signatories of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) Code, adhering to its provisions in their fact-checking work.
