POINT 2.0 to be held from 23rd to 25th of May in Sarajevo
POINT (Political accountability and new technologies) will feature its second conference of civil society organization which base their activities on using new technologies, held from 23rd to 25th of May this year in the premises of Art House cinema Kriterion.
This year, aside from participants from seven countries of Southeast Europe, the conference will host civil society organizations from Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Israel, Palestine, Cyprus, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, United States, United Kingdom, Island, Russia, and Azerbaijan.
The four days of POINT conference will include numerous presentations and projects, workshops in the field of using new technologies for civic activism, panel discussions, Skype presentations, and entertainment. The conference, utilizing new technologies and active participation of internet users, will present concrete examples of activities by civil society organizations, including the sharing of experiences from specific fields.
The first two days of this year’s conference will feature presentations of participants and panel discussions. The third day is planned as unconference day where participants can propose themes and topics for presentations. The third and fourth day will feature a Code sprint challenge, a two-day competition of developers and other IT enthusiasts in developing new software projects for civic action.
First POINT conference was held from 16th to 18th of February 2012 and included five main themes, gathering over a 100 representatives of civil society organizations from the region and the world that had the opportunity to present the latest developments in the use of new technologies for civil society organizations.
POINT conference is organized by C.A. „Zašto ne“ from BiH in cooperation with „CRTA“ from Serbia, „Metamorphosis“ from Macedonia, and „Mjaft“ from Albania.
